Voices from our CoP-partners
These quotes offer a glimpse into our partners’ experiences and perspectives on shaping inclusive schools through collaboration, reflection, and practice.
I think the composition of the group was especially important – that there were people from every group: teachers, school assistants, and especially students – because that gave us all the different perspectives.
And I think everyone always had the space to speak freely. Everyone’s voice was heard. And I believe that’s why it all worked so harmoniously and smoothly – because we were able to develop a plan together and then also carry it out.
And that is not something you experience as a teacher all the time: sitting there and seeing students also being present, fully engaged, thinking along and genuinely eager to keep doing more, in the best possible sense. There was simply an incredible amount of motivation, and I think that really got everything moving.
I think it’s really cool that teachers, students and mentors genuinely work together. We learn together, and everyone has an equal voice.
In a CoP, a school stops being a collection of separate islands and becomes one connected community. Teachers, families and students share information, goals and decisions. And you can see the results: more motivation, more participation and greater engagement. Because that is the second thing a CoP brings: innovation. It helps teachers rediscover their curiosity and helps students feel seen and heard.
