Around 170 education and support professionals joined the final I CO-COPE conference in Ghent and online to exchange ideas, explore practical tools and strengthen inclusive, student-centred collaboration in schools.
Through the Erasmus+ project I CO-COPE, partners from Austria, Belgium, Portugal and Slovakia explored how collaboration in secondary schools can become more transparent, inclusive and effective. A central focus of the project was ensuring that every voice is heard, including those of students.
In May, the project partners met in Ghent, Belgium, for their final partner meeting. This was followed by the final I CO-COPE conference, which brought together around 170 education and support professionals both online and in person.
During the hybrid event, the project consortium presented the project’s key results and outputs. Participants gained insights into inspiring examples from schools, practical tools and concrete strategies for establishing Communities of Practice. These communities bring together teachers, support staff and students to work collaboratively on inclusive school development tailored to the specific needs of each school.
The feedback from participants was very positive. Many highlighted the interactive discussions, opportunities for exchange and networking, as well as the practical experiences and diverse European perspectives shared during the conference.
The experiences gathered during the final event, throughout the project partnership and in the participating schools once again demonstrated the importance of a positive atmosphere and strong collaboration. Both can make a meaningful difference in promoting inclusive education and creating supportive learning environments.
